I am away from home at the moment, picked up my emails on the web. Just
wanted to thank everyone for their interesting replys. I am looking forward
to discovering about Grantown on Spey. I have to admit I had not heard of
it. The person I am researching there is Thomas McLACHLAN born around 1831,
anyone have any connection? I have been looking for him for years!. He is
the illigitimate father of my Gt Grandfather. By luck he was on the 1861
census with the mother. Only for that census. They obviously went their
seperate ways. She also was most elusive.
