I must have missed Pearl's original posting:

close to the boundary of Banff.

But I can confirm that the Parish and Burgh of Turriff have always
belonged to Aberdeenshire, and while sundry of the neighbouring parishes
have undergone boundary adjustments from time to time (principally in
1891), Turriff was not affected by any of these changes.

In the case of Muiresk, it would appear that the estate extended across
the river Deveron (or Doveran, as the VIctorians seem to have called
it), into the Banffshire parish of Forglen. As has already been
reported, Muiresk House is in the parish of Turriff, but "Boat of
Muiresk" (the site of a ferry) lay on the Forglen side.
