Grantown was originally named Castleton of Freuchie and was located close to
Castle Grant. The Laird of Grant thought that it spoiled the view and in
1766 the town was moved about a mile away from the castle and re-named
Grantown-on-Spey. The parish was Inverallan. Auld Harry in Toronto.
