Hi Jeanette-
Gosh that is very nice of you to do that. Unfortunately, according to the
records and dates that I have found so far, grandpa's family didn't arrive in
Ripley from Hungary until around 1904, and grandma's family like 1906/1907.
I don't have an exact date, but I did find great gpa and great gma on the
1910 census for Ripley in Johnson Twp along with their 3 youngest. The youngest
being 14. The 3 oldest I guess had already moved on. I know they had 7 kids
that came over on the ship.
I live in Michigan, and for some odd reason took a few unscheduled days off
work. I came very close to packing a bag and drivng to Missouri in hopes of
finding more info. Then I changed my mind, when I realized I would really be
going there blind. I would have had no idea where to start to look, not to
mention not knowing the area at all. So I thought that I would try to spend my
unpaid time on the pc to see if I could plan a future trip a little more
organized.
Could you or somebody point me in the right direction. I think I would like
to try to find out where they lived and when they actually arrived in Ripley.
Where would records be post 1900?
I do know that gpa's parents somehow both ended up being buried at Beaver
Dam Cemetery in Audrain County.
Well thanks in advance for any help from anyone! :-)
