I think this is a cemetery that my husband and I tried to visit a couple of
years ago. It's located off Hwy C. ( I can't find my map). If you are
heading toward Doniphan on Hwy C from US Hwy 60, you'll come to a clearing
with a small bridge over a gulley. There's a guardrail there, a field on
the left and a hill on the right. Just past the bridge is a dirt road off
to the right. This runs along Buffalo Creek. The cemetery is in the woods
up the road on the left. There's a mobile home on the right and a trash
pile on the left. The homeowner took us up there. We found a couple of
stones but it was summer and between the overgrowth, ticks and my
overwhelming fear of snakes, we weren't able to see much. I'd love to come
to Ripley County and help clean it up or donate money or whatever to put
that Cemetery back--at least to where the stones could be read. There were
several headstones there. I think this is where my great great great
grandparents, William Spencer Burrows and Keziah Stone Burrows are buried
(it's up a ways from the Current River now---they were supposed to be buried
at the mouth of Buffalo Creek) Kathy
