I do not want to add to the confussion but some researches use the mother's maiden name as the persons middle initial if it not know. I've come across that many times.

My Morris lines came from Phildelphia County which later became parts of Berks County in Pa.

My grandfather was John, his father was John and so on, drives me nuts.
