Subject: Samuel James Morris of Leicestershire ideas needed!

I have deliberately put of Leicestershire because I cannot prove of any connection whatsoever with Barwell, Leicestershire where Samuel appears on the war memorial outside of St Mary's Church Leics.
After 10 years of searching I have finally managed to find his father Michael William Morris and his mother Sarah Jane Morris.
This list seems to have more luck with american connections but here goes anyway.
Michael William Morris b 1870/71
Sarah Jane Morris( maiden name unknown) b 1873/74
Harold Spencer Morris b 1896/1897
Arthur Morris b 1900/01
Alice Elizabeth Morris b July 9th 1898/99

All of these other family members I assume were born after 1901?
Ada
Albert
Audrey
Phil
Walter

The one major puzzle is that Samuel James Morris b 1895 d 1915 does not appear with the rest of his family when he would have been about 5/6 years old??
Why does he appear on the Barwell war memorial??
Who decides what names appear on a war memorial?

Any ideas welcomed!
