Shelia,
In 1984, I published a spiral bound softback 257 page book on my line of Morrows. "Morrows of America 1651-1984". I placed copies in most southern states genealogical libraries.
Md, Va, Ms, SC, Utah LDS. My full name is William Robert Morrow, in case you want to find the book. It has copies of most deeds, wills, records.. etc
My Morrow lineage was based (of course) upon Worth Ray's "Tennessee Cousins" Morrow chart on pg 256. It's all I had available. Still is.

Within my book I showed my findings that Hannah Hopkins was "not proven yet" (1984) as the wife of David Morrow (50).
I still feel that it is not proven. Differences in surname spellings and locations keep me cautious. Couple of years ago I emailed a Hopkins descendant and he did finally agree with my hypothesis that the David Murray who married Hannah Hopkins could very well have been David (50) Morrow.

Here are some of my findings which led me to believe Hannah was David's wife, (enough to print it).

Worth Ray showed the following lineage: David Morrow Sr (3) was father of Alexander Morrow (22) who was the father of David Morrow (50) who I think married Hannah Hopkins. I'll use Mr. Ray's parenthetic numbering from his book to identify various Morrows.

I'm going to number each of my research items below so if you have questions, you can refer to the number. My spelling of surnames is always shown as found in the records. Morrow is spelled in many ways, the will of David Morrow Jr has the name Morrow spelled five different ways within the same will. You will see some Murray spellings in the various documents, but as Worth Ray says, the time and place are right. I have to start back with Alexander (22) Morrow and move forward so you can see how the various findings interweave and lead to my conclusions.

(1) Alexander (22)Morrow was given 262 acres in his father's 1693 will, with the provision that if Alex died without issue, the land would revert to his siblings. So it appears Alex did not have children at the time of the will. That would make son David (50) Morrow & siblings to have been born after 1693.

Regarding "David Walter Morrow", to my knowledge, double given names weren't used in that time era. This isn't the first time I have seen "David Walter Morrow" shown as the son of Alex (22) Morrow, but Walter Morrow died 1709 in Baltimore Co Md. I feel these were two different people.

(2) Alex was like a ghost, I couldn't trace him in any records. Finally found where he and brother? John paid tithes (taxes) 1704-1705 Princess Ann Co Va. Spelling: Alexander Morrah, John Morrah. Princess Ann was carved out of Norfolk Co in 1691. That website has since disappeared, so I can't offer a source of my info.

(3) 04 Nov 1727 estate of Richard Smith names Grace Morrow as heir. Bk G p.192. Norfolk Co Va. Alexander Morrow (22) didn't sign, indicating he was dead. Proof of her being Alex's wife comes below. Grace's name was shown:
Grace Morrow of Upper. The surname Morrow was spelled perfectly. (Norfolk was split into Upper and Lower at that time).
To my knowledge, this was the first time Alex's wife Grace was shown in printed books. (1984).

(4) 03 June 1728 Grace Smith Morrow marries Richard Davis.
Vol 1 of 1706-1792 Norfolk Co marriages. This proves Alexander (22) Morrow was dead.

(5) 22 Nov 1734 David Murray (50?) was testator in will of Elizabeth Davis of Somerset Co Md, also willed a slave. Other Test: Nathaniel Hopkins, Hannay Murray, Wm Whittington, others..
(6) 03 Sept 1739 Hannah Murray in will of Nathaniel Hopkins as his dau. Son Mathew to handle Sandy Wharft left in will of Col. Wm Whittington. Bk 21 pg 268 Somerset Co. 20 Mar 1740.

(7) 23 Dec 1744 at home of Richard Davis, John Morrow (53) died. His noncupative will was proved 18 Jan 1745. Bk H p119 Norfolk Co Va. This was Grace's son John who was brother to David (50) Morrow.

(8) 29 Nov 1747 Grace (Smith) Morrow Davis was Ex. in will of husband Richard Davis, wittnessed by David Murrey (sic) Bk 4 pg 214 Norfolk Co Va. This was our David (50) Morrow and this is my offer of proof that Grace Smith was wife of Alexander (22) Morrow and mother of David (50).

This completes what I have on hand without digging deeper into my records. This work took me several years to develop, and I spent considerable sums of money sending for various records, but I'm willing to share my findings. No, I won't send copies of sources. This email is all I share. Been a couple of hours preparing it, but someday, somebody else will help me, so that's why I'm helping you.
...Bill Morrow of Oklahoma.
