FARMINGTON - Mr. Eugene Frederick Kollmeyer, 84, passed away at his
residence, Sunday, March 14, 2004. He was born in Farmington on March 21,
1919, and was the only child of the late Fred J. and Myrtle Lee (Griffin)
Kollmeyer. Also preceded in death by one Grandson, John L. Kollmeyer.

Eugene was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church as a child and
continued to be a faithful member until his death. He was active in the
leadership of his church, serving as President of the Church Council Board
of Elders and St. Paul's Lutheran School Board member. He had been a
dairy/beef farmer all of his life - first in partnership with his father,
and then with his son. He was active in many agriculture-related
organizations, including: Member of Missouri Farm Bureau; President of The
St. Francois Co. Farm Bureau for over 20 years; a member of the Mid-America
Dairymen's Association. Past member of the St. Francois Co. Extension
Council, 4-H member and 4-H Club Leader, St. Francois Co. Fair Board and for
many years Superintendent of the Field Crops Department at the County Fair.

Despite being active in his community & church, he was a devoted husband and
extremely proud father; grandfather & great-grandfather. He and his wife
enjoyed traveling, especially in their camper, often accompanied by
children; grandchildren and friends. For many years they spent part of their
winter in Southern Texas and tried to attend the Missouri State Fair on
their wedding anniversary, because they spent their honeymoon there in 1939.

Survivors include: His wife of 64 years, Nellie Marie (Laws) Kollmeyer; Four
Children: Robert and wife Margaret of Summersville, Susan and husband, Joe
Faenger; Kenny and wife Sharon Kollmeyer; and Nancy and husband, Michael
Eaves, all of Farmington. 10 Grandchildren: Laura (Shawn) Caldwell, of Bonne
Terre; Matthew Kollmeyer, of Clearwater, Fla.; Cody Kollmeyer, of
Summersville; Kendra (Michael) Graham, of Fredericktown; Derrick, Katie and
Callie Eaves; Amanda (J.D.) Richards, Maggie Kollmeyer, all of Farmington
and Jennifer (Rick) Mejia, of Illinois. 5 Great-Grandchildren: Connor
Caldwell; Garrett Graham, Taylor Richards, Kiana and Ricky Mejia, and many
other relatives and friends.

Visitation Tuesday afternoon, 3-9 p.m., resuming Wednesday at 7 a.m. at
Taylor Funeral Service, Inc., Farmington. Funeral Wednesday, 11 a.m., March
17, 2004, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Farmington, with Rev. James King
officating. Interment follows in Lutheran Cemetery, Farmington. Memorials
preferred to: St. Paul Lutheran School Building Fund and or Church General
Fund.
