Yes, "Hunky Hill" was in Bonne Terre. When you
go into BonneTerre from Hwy. 67 you go up and
over what they called "Hunky Hill." I would suspect
that now it is politically incorrect and ethnically
insulting to call it that. There were many Poles,
Hungarians, Czechs and other Europeans, employed
by St. Joe Lead, living there. I went to school with
a lot of kids from "the Hill" in the'40s and '50s.
