SHELT E. THURMAN
Shelt E. Thurman, son of the late P. H. and Ada Kerlagon Thurman, was born
in Ste. Genevieve County, Mo., February 21, 1896, and passed away at the
Pratt Rest Home in DeLassus, Thursday, March 17, 1955, after a six-month
illness, aged 59 years 26 days. He was a veteran of World War I.
On December 19, 1919 he was united in marriage to Elsie Lee May, and they
have since resided on a farm on Farmington Route 2. He is survived by his
wife, two brothers, Perry Thurman of St. Louis and Ira Thurman of Farmington
Route 2, and a sister, Miss Lottie Thurman of Farmington, besides other
relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the First Baptist Church
in Cantwell, of which he was a member, conducted by the pastor, Rev. T. R.
Lewis. Interment was in Marvin Chapel cemetery. C. Z. Boyer & Son service.
