Subject: Valentine Rosener's Murder?

Valentine (Val) Rosener's obit claims he died on Sunday night, at 11 pm on 19 January, 1908. He died in his home at Marion Township near French Village. A relative told me that Valentine was stabbed to death in the back by a murderer. Does anyone have access to a St. Francois County newspaper from that period which may confirm or refute Valentine's murder?

The obit also states that Valentine was a member of Aisbury Chapel Baptist Congregation. Where was that church located? Is it still around?
