Wilfred Stenger
DE SOTO - Wilfred (Wil) C. Stenger, 68, resident of DeSoto, MO died in
his rural home on June 12, 2006 from complications due to lung cancer. Wil
was the owner of Wil and Bea Service, Inc., a local HVAC/ general
contracting company since 1983. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus,
council number 1088 and served two years in the United States Army from 1958
to 1960. He was a proud patron of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre,
MO.
Born March 26, 1938 in Glennonville (Southeast), MO to the late Elsa
and Joseph Stenger, Wil is survived by his wife, Bernice (Bea) Stenger of
DeSoto, daughter Betty Schobey and her husband Art of Holt Summit, MO, son
Richard Stenger and his wife Elaine of Cocoa, Florida, son Tobias Stenger
and his wife Donna of DeSoto, MO, daughter Mary Jo Tohle and her husband
Paul of Detroit, MI; eight grandchildren: David, Michael, Rebecca, Angela
Rose, Benjamin, Christina, Madeleine, and Morgan; two step-grandchildren:
Jason and Sara, and two great-grandchildren: Tyler and Kadyn; 13 siblings
including 11 sisters: Agnes Fluech of Poplar Bluff, MO, Sr. Ann Miriam
Stenger, Margaret Stenger, Sr. Mary Stenger, Gertrude Schrader, Sr. Jovita
Stenger, Sr. Mariella Stenger, Patricia Stenger and Rose Murphy all of St.
Louis, MO, Clementine Lampe of Black, MO, Clara Herzog of DeSoto, MO, and
two brothers: Rev. Joseph Stenger of Brooklyn Center, MN and Edward Stenger
of St. Louis, MO. He is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Angela
Rose (d. 1965), brother Ferdinand Stenger and sister Arlene Stenger.
Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Boyer
Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, MO. Funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m.
Thursday, June 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre, MO with Rev.
John Schneider and Wil's brother Rev. Joseph Stenger concelebrating.
The family has requested that memorials be made in the form of
donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Donations may be sent to: 501
St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
