Franklin Smith

FARMINGTON - Franklin Downing Smith of Farmington passed away on Wednesday,
March 14, 2007, at Camelot Nursing and Rehab Center, at the age of 96 years.
He was born on December 27, 191O, at Farmington, the son of the late Leo
Franklin and Easter (Hinkle) Smith. He was also preceded in death by his
wife, Verona (Dix) Smith, two brothers, Emmett and Jesse Smith, two sisters,
Bessie Smith Green, and Genevieve Smith Blaylock.

He is survived by four daughters, Patsy Joann (Harry) Patterson, of Aurora,
IL, Anna Easter (James) Murphy, of Farmington, Bessie Genevieve (Lynn)
Neisius, of St. Louis, and Kattie Jane (James) Sherrill, of Park Hills,
eight grandchildren, Steven (Valerie) Patterson, Ann Patterson (Steve)
Butcher, Dena Murphy (Douglas) Rose, Terra Murphy (Gordon) Cummins, Brian
(Shannon) Neisius, Melinda Neisius, Andrew Sherrill, Amy Sherrill, and
eighteen great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and
friends also survive.

Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday,
March 15,2007. Visitation will resume on Friday at 7:30 a.m. with funeral
service to be held at 1 p.m. at the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Brian Schaefer
officiating. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may
be directed to HospiceCare, Inc. or Libertyville United Methodist Church.
