FARMINGTON - Zilpha Christine Burns of Farmington passed away on June 14,
2007, at NHC Nursing Facility at the age of 92 years. She was born on
December 24, 1914, at Desloge, to the late Norman and Zephers (Heistand)
Jackson. She was also preceded by two sisters, Naomi Dickey, and Ruth
Cromer, four brothers, Eugene, Tom, Amos, and Stanley Jackson, a grandson,
Thomas Lamb, and a son-in-law Robert Lamb.

Mrs. Burns enjoyed reading and quilting. Some of the best parts of her life
were spent in the Stono area, where she lived with her mother.

She is survived by a son, David Rokosky and wife Joanne of Seattle, WA, a
daughter, Shirley Lamb of Ironton, two grandsons, Roger and Jeff Lamb, a
granddaughter, Julie Rokosky, seven great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Norman A. Jackson and wife Shirley,
and Milton Leigh, all of Farmington, and a sister, Nettie Hampton, of Doe
Run. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.

Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on
Sunday, June 17, 2007. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, with a
funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel with the Rev. James Lacey
officiating. Burial will follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may
be directed to Safe Harbor Hospice. Obituary and online condolences at
