I am a nephew of Kathryn Scher,(nee Downey) the wife of your great-uncle, Harry Scher. He was a dear, sweet, kind and generous man who was like a second father to me. He was a music teacher at night and a stock clerk for Red Cross in his day job.I was at his bedside when he died as a result of a stroke in 1959.
