Hi,
Thanks for the info, I have been emailing Katie Steen with no response. I'm
currently working with "THE REPRINT COMPANY, PUBLISHERS" here in Spartanburg,SC
to promote the book by Cyril Cain "Four centuries on the Pascagoula" on my
site.

I feel it's very important to educate folks of the strengths and sacrafices
our kin made for the growth of this part of America. My
Smith/Ladnier/Lyons/Johnson/Nelson/Whatley/Fulford/Styron/Bosarge/Baptiste/Denny family is connected
to many of the pioneering families in this area so I felt a special duty to
record and preserve their history as many before me have done. My GGGgrandfather
who was a member perhaps the commander of the USS Frigate "United States"
commissioned in abt. 1790-1860's brought many of the families from New York to
New Orleans and Pascagoula. I am currently researching that piece of history for
accuracy and more detail.

I live here in Charleston, SC so I really don't have access to that library,
however, my nephew may be able to find a copy since he lives near Columbus,
MS. Recently, I have learned that the first lady of Mississippi may have a
connection to our Ladnier family tree which is very exciting.

I would love to have a copy of the book so please watch out for a copy that
may present itself. I have lived in Charleston,SC most of my life and actually
born in North Carolina and even traveled and lived overseas but for some
strange reason I've always felt that Pascagoula, MS should have been my home, weird
huh. The stories my grandparents and parents told me when I was growing up
about Pascagoula and the old days are etched in my mind as if they're my own
experiences.

Well, I don't want to sound corny but that's how I feel,

Thanks for writing back with the info

Godbless,
Ernie Smith
