May 28, 2009. She was born December 15, 1911, in Lucedale, Miss. She later
moved to Moss Point where she and her husband established their family. Her
late husband, Gordon Lundy, was killed in an accident in 1939 leaving Ms.
Lundy a young widow to raise their three daughters. To Ms. Lundy, her
greatest accomplishment in life was rearing her daughters as a single

grandchildren. Ms. Lundy was employed with International Paper for 32 years.
After retiring she traveled to many of America's landmarks with her friends
and family. A loving matriarch, Granny Lundy's favorite line was "Life is
what you make out of it." She was also a wonderful cook who spent many happy
hours preparing lunch and dinner for her friends and family. In her prime,
she would routinely invite her daughters, grandchildren and friends to come
to lunch at her house on Charles Street. Those lunches were never small and
almost always included six courses plus dessert. Another of her favorite
sayings, which she always told her lunch guests, was "If you leave here
hungry, it's your own fault." The daughter of the late Seaman and Viola
Hewlett Taylor of Lucedale, she was proceeded in death by her daughter,
Barbara Lundy Stringfellow, Pascagoula, Miss., and her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances L. and James M.
Creamer, Birmingham, Ala., Donnel "Doodle" and Ray Davis, Pascagoula, Miss.,
and son-in-law Stephen Stringfellow, Trussville, Ala.; six grandchildren and
