Subject: Mr. Elmer J. "Checker" Baum

Mr. Elmer J. "Checker" Baum, 95, of Pascagoula, MS passed away July 1, 2009.
He was born December 20, 1913 in Slidell, LA. He graduated from Pascagoula
High School in 1933. He married his beloved wife Frances Parker Baum on
November 8, 1941. He was a night foreman in the Fab Shop at Ingalls
Shipbuilding, until retiring to help his wife in their florist shop in
Lucedale, MS. They moved to Apalachicola, FL in 1975 and lived there for ten
years, and then returned to Pascagoula, MS. Mr. Baum is preceded in death by
his parents Frank and Anne Antoinette Baum. He leaves loving memories to his
wife Frances Baum; brother Edward H. Baum; sister Betty (Dennis) Jones; and
many other relatives and friends. A Funeral service will be held Friday,
July 3, 2009 at 10am at Christ Lutheran Church in Pascagoula with Rev.
Arthur D. Yunker officiating, with a one hour visitation prior to service.
Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Lucedale, MS
