Hi Brenda,

My grandmother talks about having a cousin named America, but I'm not sure if it was America Chandler or America Vaughan, or even Amercia Calvert. Guess I'll have to ask. But as i've probably already stated, my Vaughan connection is from Virginia. My great great great grandmother, Annie Vaughan was born in 1841 in VA. I believe she was from Monroe County, MS, having been married there in the early 1870s. She died while giving birth in 1879 to her 11th child. I'm currently trying to find a slave owning family in Monroe County with a similar mirgration pattern. I don't know anything about her family. One way in which I might find something is that Annie Vaughan had a son who's daughter , Mattie Chandler, married Leeroy Petty in the 1920s. I haven't been able to find relatives of this family, but I'm steady asking around. In this way I might find something. I hope I can help in some way.
