Hello my names is Veronica M. Anderson
I work for the Pike-Amite-Walthall Library System.......I am researching a
particular area for a patron in Jackson Mississippi and I have been going
around in circles.........

I should like to know if there is a town in Amite County named Mars Hill, I
have recorded of a Church named Mars Hill Baptist Church off of Smithdale
but couldn't find any directions or maps on Mars Hill itself. Patron also
wanted to know if the town was named after Mars Hill in Athens, Greece where
the Apostle Paul spoke. I am a little embarrassed to ask for help since I
work for the library and should have all the resources here, as you can see
I don't. If you can assist me in any way I would greatly appreciate it. I
promise to give you all the credit. (smile).

P.S.
I also talked to the librarians at Liberty, Gloster and Crosby Public
Libraries and they couldn't help me.
