Hi:

I follow the Attala County mailings regularly; and, I find many useful and interesting things there. My ancestors were in Attala County, although they left there and came to Texas in December of 1835.

For whatever it might be worth, there are no "mountains" here in East Texas either, but we have several places known as "Big Mountain", "Red Rock Mountain", etc. None of these are mountains, but they are "hills". Just a rise in the usual terrain around here.

Maybe this is what the folks are talking about.

If there are any mountains in Attala County I have yet to see them. There
are hills galore but if there are mountains they have been installed in the
past 6 months.
