Jan,

A couple of years ago I paid a professional genealogist to do some research
in Annapolis, Md. She obtained photo copies of the two orphan's court
document which she sent to me. I made about a dozen copies at Kinkos to
share with others. Send me your mailing address and I will send them to
you. The hand writing is kind of neat. On these documents we learn
Richard's birth date but not the identity of his father. The place where
his father's first name would appear is conspicuously blank, hence my brick
wall.
