Subject: Oakland College Classes of 1833-1840

Recently I did some research at the Center for American History at the
University of Texas in Austin. In the Natchez Trace Collection there is
a file on Oakland College. In it was a 48 page handwritten history of
Oakland college, written on different sizes of paper and missing the
first 4 pages. Included in this history was a list of Alumni from 1833
to 1855, "taken from old original manuscripts & private papers." I do
not know if the list is complete. It did not include my
great-grandfather, who I know attended Oakland College, although it did
list his two brothers in the Class of 1847. I don't know if he was just
missed or if he did not graduate from Oakland. I have a paper that says
he was a classmate of Robert Price, who is listed in the class of 1849.

I will break the list into several posts. Remember that I was
transcribing a handwritten list and was not familiar with many of the
names. I do not have a photocopy of the list.
