I remember seeing lists of deaths from yellow fever in some of the old
newspapers that I have looked at. I don't remember looking for Claiborne
Co., but I had a collateral relative who was a physician and died during the
1878 yellow fever epidemic in Memphis. Every day the paper had lists of
deaths. You might check newspapers in Port Gibson and neighboring counties.

I have a copy of a photo of Dr. George Stuart Limerick and his mother wrote
on the back that he was exhausted from nursing the yellow fever patients.
His practice was in Vicksburg.
