Subject: [MSITAWAM-L] Camp family in Mantachie

I found this obit. in my grandma's things. I think one of her families are
related somehow to this man or his parents. She also had a photo of him when
he was a toddler, so there has to be some family connection, I would think.
If anyone knows the date of his death, and anything about his parents, I
would like to know more about him. Thanks.

His Obit reads:
Herman Camp Dies Suddenly
William Herman Cam, Sr., 60 died Saturday at Itawamba County Hospital. He
had been practicing attourney in Fulton for 34 years. He served in the
Marine Corps during WW II and was retired captain of the MS Armny National
Guard. At retirement, he was commander of the National Guard unit in
Fulton.
He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina and the University of
Miss. Law School. He had served in the MS Legislature as a senator. He was
attorney of Itawamba Co., for 3 terms and served as city attorney of Fulton
and Mantachie. He had served as an associate director of the Bank of MS,
and was a member of the Fulton Civitan Club, and the Mantachie Lion's Club.
He was a past commander of the American Legion Post 51 of Itawamba Co. and
of 40 and 8. He was a member of the Itawamba Co. and Miss. State Bar Assn.
Services were at 11 a.m. Monday at the Senter Funeral Home chapel with Bro.
Grady McWhirter and Bro. Rank Boyte officiating. Burial was in the Stephens
Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gwendola Camp of Mantachie; three
daughters, Mrs. Barbara Randle of Tupelo, Mrs. Karen McFerrin and Mrs.
Felicia Fennell, both of Mantachie; a son, William Herman Camp, Jr. of
Mantachie; a sister , Mrs. Gladys Franks of Mantachie; three grandchildren.
