Surname: James, Davis

First, I confuse information; second, newspapers do too, especialy in an
era of poor communications. It is quite possible that Joshua James, Jr's,
brother in Wilmington, newspaper publisher, John Sage James, thought it
was Jeff Davis and not his brother and confused Josh's Adams Co., Jefferson
Co., and Tensus Parish plantations? I suspect Josh's 1830s Adams Co., plantation
was really his wife's, Johnson/Wood? Also his dad, Joshua Sr., in Wilmington,
N.C., was in tar and pitch (naval stores); was tar/pitch harvested in the
1830s in Adams Co., Miss.?
