Ann,
Can you tell me if Jack, Jesse, John or any Reid families have been found in
the records you have for Jefferson and Claiborne. Also Covington family
connected with Reid. A family story states that Jack or Jackson or Jesse
Reid went from VA to MS about 1800. Received a land grant in western portion
of Jefferson co. in 1801. This Reid is said to have had two sons and two
daughters. One daughter married a John Covington. Brandywine creek ran
through property known as Brandywine plantation, owned by Covington
descendants until about 1965.
Would appreciate any help you or anyone else can give on these names and
places.
