Surname: GOODRUM
-------------------------

We think that the Thomas Goodrum listed on the 1820 census of Jefferson
County is the eldest Thomas (that we've proven thus far) of our Goodrum
line. I haven't been able to locate the family on the 1840 census, but
the family appears on the 1850 census of DeSoto County. The elder Thomas'
large family, including sons, John, Thomas P., Francis Marion, Seaborn
or Ceburn (according to family records), and Reuben, as well as daughters,
Eliza Goodrum Griffin (later Hurlbut) and Mary Jane, migrated to Texas
in the early 1850's. Census records indicate the elder Thomas was born
in South Carolina ca. 1786-1789. Please contact me by email for further
information.
