Hi! I've just recently begun to look into the Alston line. My fiancee's grandfather was an Alston who traces back to Phillip Alston, son of Solomon Alston and Ann Nancy Hinton. I've run across a website that has alot of information that you may find useful. I see you have started your research quite a while ago and may already have found this information yourself but I thought I might let you know anyway. I found it by going into rootsweb, then typing in Philip Alston, then I went into surname search. A family by the name of Ziegeler put the information in. Their family goes into the same Alston family. Under Alston, there is also a section which links John Alston to King EdwardIII and John's wife, Dortothy Temple's family, the Magna Carta.
