I have a possible match for your James H. Burns:

James "Bud" Burns, son of Henry Burns b. 1828 n MS d. 9-16-1852 in Union co. Ark.and Fidelia Clawson Burns. There were two children: James married ? Wilson and they had a daughter named Lucy and Adaline M. Burns b. 1-28-1850 Union co. Ark d. April 18, 1928 Union co. Ark.

Henry Burns died 1852. The two minor children were placed under the guardianship of Henry's brother James and his wife, Adaline Burns. Fidelia remarried to James Smith in 1855.
