Marie,
I'll bet your as right as you can be. I've heard that a lot of the
fellows from the area who went to Brazil after the war stayed for a few
years, became disenchanted and returned. My thought that Jacob Stampley
divorced Mabella and married Elenora Smith is obviously wrong. I think
Elenora became the second wife of Jalone Z. Stampley.
For Diane's info there was a Stampley Genealogy done a few years ago by
Gordon Wells of Jackson probably with some assistance from Hattie
Howard and Ann Brown. This 114 page tome while interesting is not indexed.
Marie, what date of death are you showing for Maybella Stampley?
