I do not know how but believe that my WOODs from Sumter Co., AL connect to your Whitmel. I have two WOOD lines. One came into AL from GA around 1850, and the other from NC. about 1830. My Josiah WOOD was born in GA abt. 1825 according to the 1860 Marengo Co.,AL Census. Daniel S. WOOD was born in NC about 1790. Josiah's son, Charles Walker WOOD, was my great grandfather.
Also, I do know that some of your WOODs married WALKERs. I will be happy to share any information that I have with you.
