Hi Jackie:
That area was the Choctaw Nation before 1832. A reservation
still exist in a neighboring county. I think the Blackwater
Baptist Church is still in existance.Most likely the associations
referred to a group of baptist churches.
I am also researching the Mosley, Holloway, Dew, Johnson,
Pettus,Prince, Meeks, and Weston surnames from Kemper
and Lauderdale counties.
I just discovered my connection to the Mosley and Holloways
this week through the obituary of Holloway Mosley whoes
parents were Wash Mosley and Anna Holloway.
