Message Board Post:

We are looking for the descendants of C.H. Rawson (sometimes spelled Rossin) who was born -- probably in Lauderdale County, MS -- in 1843 and his wife Margaret B. (sometimes Bethlehem Margaret) McDaniel born in Mississippi in 1845. C.H. Rawson appears to have served in the Civil War with the 41st Mississippi Infantry, Company C.

C.H. Rawson and Margaret McDaniel were married in Lauderdale County, MS on Jan 8, 1868, and moved to Texas several years later, settling (perhaps) in Navarro Co, TX. They had a son George T. (born in MS in 1869), a son Robert (born in TX in 1871) and a daughter Amie (born in TX in 1873). C.H. Rawson died before October 15, 1876, the date on which his widow (Margaret B. McDaniel Rawson) married T.G. McNeely (born in AL in 1820) in Navarro County, TX. The family subsequently moved to Wise County, TX where T.G. McNeely died in 1882. Margaret B. McDaniel Rawson McNeely remarried in September of 1886 to John L. Miller in Wise County, TX, but died in childbirth on July 6, 1888 (probably in Wise -- but possibly in Navarro -- County, TX).

C.H. and Margaret McDaniel Rawson's oldest son -- George T. Rawson -- appears to have been living in Fort Bend County, TX in the 1930s; while their second son -- Robert -- appears to have been living in Navarro County, TX at that time. The whereabouts of their daughter -- Amie -- at that time is not known.

If this family sounds familar to you, please let us hear from you.
