Wayne, some forwarded your email to me to see if I could help. My husbands ancestor was James Butler that came from South Carolina to Yalabusha County Mississippi. He is buried at the Oakridge Cemetery located on the Pickensville Highway from Columbus. He has 2 sons, Robert (my husbands's GGrandfather and Thomas Jefferson. These are the only Butlers I know of so far, but your ancestor may have been a brother to James. I know that Thomas Jefferson drown in 1902 and buried at Cross Roads in Pickens County. If this sounds like there maybe a connection, let me know. I haven't started doing alot of research on the Butlers yet. Trying to get through with the Hughes side first.

Mary Hughes Butler
