Surname: LEWIS
-------------------------

I am trying to learn where my Great Grandfather, James Samuel Lewis, died
and where he is buried. I think the answer to both is somewhere in Marshall
County. James and his wife, Amanda, moved from Granville County, North
Carolina, to Marshall County, Mississippi, sometime between 1863 and 1870.
They (along with their five children) are listed in the 1870 Census of
Marshall County in the Byhalia P.O. District. James died on March 10, 1875,
but I have not been able to verify where he died or where he is buried.
Amanda died on February 3, 1890, and is buried in the Red Banks Cemetery
near Byhalia.
If you have any information on the location of the grave of James Samuel
Lewis, please respond on this forum or send me an e-mail. Thanks,
John B. Lewis
