My husband's grandfather was David Clarence Greenlee. He was born November
20, 1871, in Newton Co., MS. His parents were David Jasper Newton (DJN)
Greenlee,born 1833, Pickens Co., AL and Eliza Winnefred Scoggin, born 1840,
Winston Co., MS. They married September 2, 1855, Enterprise, MS.
D C Greenlee married Hannah Carolina Lisenbe, November 22, 1894, in Kemper
Co., MS.After their first child was born in 1895, they moved to Stephens
Co., TX to be near his mother, Eliza Winnefred, and his brother James
William (Jim) Greenlee. Eliza, Jim, and David came to TX and bought land.
They had some sisters already living in TX. Only one sister remained in MS.
She was Mary Catherine (Cate) Greenlee, and her husband James William
Foreman. They had married in 1885, Hickory, MS.
