Subject: [MSNEWTON] Price & Davidson
Hi! I'm new to the group.
I'm researching the surnames:
Price, Davidson, Sistrunk, Sephton, Sessums, Odum, Mowdy, and Foster of
Newton County, Neshoba County, Leake County, and Scott Counties. "Four
Corners" area.
This Price family has many members buried in High Hill Baptist Ch. Cemetery
in Neshoba County, near Sebastopol. Also, there are many branches of this
family buried there.
I am looking for:
Louis P. Price b. abt. 1828 AL, died in (I'm guessing) Newton Co., MS aft.
1880.
His son: Wiley Palmer Price, married Martha A. Davidson (both buried at High
Hill)
I'm stuck at Louis Price. He is found in the 1850 Marion Co., AL census
living with the "McNutt" household. He owned land in Alabama and Mississippi
(Lawrence Co. MS).
Louis lists his father as born in Alabama, but I have no clue who his
parents are.
I cannot seem to find Louis is the 1860 or 1870 Mississippi census. Where'd
he go? The last place I found him was in 1880 in Newton Co., MS. in Beat 1.
Where is Beat 1?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Shelly Belk
