Most of the Baileys at Fort Mims were of the families of the two brothers Dixon Bailey and Daniel Bailey. They were metis' - a combination of English and Creek Indians. A james Bailey died at the fort, but it is unknown as to who he was - perhaps a child of the above or perhaps a different Bailey altogether. Have you checked the War of 1812 records? The Creek War was part of this conflict. Fort Mims massacre occurred Aug. 30, 1813.
Sue
