Do you have any information about Charlotte Paine Williams Coxe b. 1808, in
Natchez? I'm searching for her parents. Her brothers were Ferdinand C.
Paine and George W. Paine. I read in a LA history book that Ferdinand was a
hero in the Mexican War--was a private who broke ranks and almost
single-handedly captured the enemy's breastworks. He was commended and
commissioned a 1st Lieutenant. I find him at age 44 in 1850 in Baton Rouge,
LA. He died in a hospital in Bayou Sara--don't know when, but the article
said he didn't live long after his exploits in the battle against Santa
Anna.
