Well I hate this almost as much as you do :(
I looked at all Hobbs/Hobs in each of the states and find no Marie. I have
then done everything you have probably already done, searched the LDS site,
searched Ancestry and of course Family tree maker. I found mention of youe
Marie in the family tree that was posted by George Eastman, but he has
nothing about her parents just that her husband married twice after her
deatch.
If Marie died in 1916 have you tried sending away for a death certificate? At
least that is where I would head and hope that it lists her parents names.
I really wish I could have helped, these brick walls are so hard to crush at
times but you will find answers somewhere I am sure.
