I have a Frank Louis Davis b. Nov 1863 in PA who married Helen Grace McCullough in 1897/98. They have a son Harry Louis Davis in Nov 1899 in Bridger, Carbon Co., MT. They are still living there the following June 1900, when the census is enumerated. Frank Davis is listed a a blacksmith, age 36, both parents born PA. Living nearby is Noah Davis, a coal miner, and wife Annie. I don't know yet if there was a connection between Frank & Noah, but both were born in PA, and both had both parents born in PA. Noah was born 1877.
In about 1901, Frank & Helen Davis have a son Lynn? Davis. By abt. 1904, Helen is married to Mr. ? McGnity and in 1910 is living in Park Co., MT running a boarding house. I do not know what became of Frank Davis. He is not listed in the death or burial records for Carbon Co., MT. I did find a Frank L. Davis age 48, single, born PA, both parents born PA, working as a bartender in a saloon in Worland Dist. 20, Big Horn Co., Wyo (not too far away) in the 1910 Census. He was listed as a boarder in the home of Luther Hampton. Don't know if this is the same one, but most of the info matches up.
Do any of this connect with the Davis family you are seeking? Have you checked the cemetery records for Carbon Co., MT? 406-446-1220 - I believe these are also available on line. There are a lot of Davis individuals buried in Carbon Co.
