CLASS LETTER IS
OBJECT OF WRATH

Big “A” on Cemetery Hill
Shows Marks of Demolition Party

Considerable mystery is connected with the demolition yesterday afternoon of the big “A” that occupies a prominent place on the hill back of the cemetery. While the outline of the letter is still recognizable from the city the left hand side shows the greater amount of damage.
One story heard on the streets last evening places the blame on the under classmen at the high school, who are said to have staged the affair to even up matters with the senior class. At the time the seniors white washed letter several weeks ago, the freshman, it is alleged refused to offer assistance. The next day the older classmen picked out several of the lower class and treated them to a coat of paint. As a reprisal, the freshmen climbed the hill and destroyed the numerals of the class 1921 and built a letter “F” in place. Several days later the letter “F” disappeared in favor of another “21”.
Blame for yesterday’s work is also attributed to young lads who visited the hills Thursday evening and started a good-sized grass fire near the summit on the east side of Sheep gulch.
