Hello Pat!
Well I am going to get all of the surrounding cemetaries online - I am going
to start with Mt. Carmel, Mt. Olivet, and Sunset (in between Anaconda and
Butte). My goal is to get ALOT of the history from Anaconda online - this is such
a rich area for history and genealogy!
I am in the process of getting ahold of everyone I need to for this, in the
hopes everyone will be receptive to what I want to do. I did a search a couple
days ago for a lady from this mailing list who was searching for her husbands
father - I found all of the info within 2 hours and EVERYONE at the places I
went to search were SO helpful! I dont think I will have a problem.
I am currently searching for another family from this mailing list - the
Petterson family, I will certainly add the Harrison family to that search...you
dont, per chance, have any dates do you???
Gov and May Walsh were my G-Grandparents - Gov's parents were Patrick and
Kate Walsh. They came here straight from Ireland. Gov's daughter, Lucielle
Siegle, is my grandmother - Oscar was my grandfather. They have lived here their
whole lives so you might know them (well...knew them...they both passed about
4 years ago :-((( ) I am having a heck of a time searching for info on
Patrick and Kate - Pat put Kate in the Warm Springs Asylum....husbands did that back
then when they didnt want their wives anymore...a VERY common practice I am
finding out - and they get a reward of $25.00 for each person they committed!
Pretty sad huh?? Getting a hold of the Warm Springs records is a BIG
challenge within itself. Although I am going to Helena soon to search the Warm
Springs records (after 10 years of the patients death or release, the records get
sent to the Historical Society in Helena) - so if anyone has a relative that was
in Warm Springs and you want some info let me know! Nothing to be ashamed
about either - sane people were put in there more than the insane ones back in
the late 1800's & early 1900's.
Thanks for welcome Pat!
Kellee
