SOUTH SEAS YACHTING ADVENTURE HAS ENDED IN TRAGEDY, TWO DEAD. SUVA, FIJI
ISLANDS, Nov. 26.

A South Seas Yachting adventure has ended in tragedy for a party of
Americans, with at least two dead on their sailboat "Wing On" piled up on a coral
reef off an isolated spot on Vanua, Levu Island, north east of here.

The only known survivor of the daring adventure, which started from
California last August, was a woman believed to be Fern Thompson of Salt Lake City.
Gravely ill when found in the wreckage of the "Wing On" yesterday, she was
brought to the hospital here.

Also in the wreckage were found the unidentified bodies of a man and a
woman. It was believed a second man was buried at sea. Starvation was advanced
as a possible cause of their deaths.

(In Oakland, California, Mrs. A.M. Condley said that her son Delton and his
wife started out in the "Wing On" last August from San Pedro, California,
after taking aboard another couple Robert Thompson and his wife Fern. The
group were on a pearl diving expedition. Thompson, Mrs. Condley said, was a
professional pearl diver.).

**(Note, Mrs. A.M. Condley was Mrs. Arthur McGregor Condley, ie. Eunice
Patterson).
