Greetings:

I am trying to determine of there was a listing in any city directory back in 1939, 1940 and 1941, for a man named LEE HOMAN and/or his wife MARGARET HOMAN.  They probably lived in the Helena area or some other town in Lewis and Clark County.

LEE HOMAN played the saxophone semi-professionally and may have worked in a local band.

LEE HOMAN may have worked for a company named Williams and Family, who did construction work in Deerlodge Montana.  According to his navy records he left their employ on 1 July 1942.  He also registered for the draft at Galleton Montana.

After he left Montana he was on active duty in the US Navy.

I also have a legend in our family that says he was in jail/prison back then and was released because he was a WWI navy veteran and was released so he could go in the navy again during the WWII effort.  Is there a place to check jail or prison records?

In 1945 near the end of the war, he was transferred to Great Lakes Illinois and at discharge went home to Delavan Lake, Wisconsin.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
