From the Stillwater "Enterprise", Absarokee, Thursday, 18 September 1930:

Mrs. W.A. Young Passes

The community was shocked Monday when the wires flashed the news from Forsythe that Mrs. W.A. Young, nee Ida Blakely, had passed away at her home at Forsythe.

The lady was sick but two days but had been in a weakened condition for several month from what her physicians called diabetis, and probably was the direct cause of her death, which came suddenly and without any previous warning.

The funeral was held from the Congregational church, Absarokee, Wednesday at 2 p.m. and Rev. W.L. Spencer said the last words of consolation to the bereaved relatives and friends and consigned the remains to their everlasting resting place in the Rosebud cemetery.

The little white church on the corner was filled to seating capacity with sorrowing friends who had known the lady for many years and loved and respected her for her loving kindness toward every human being and for her gentle disposition and bright outlook on life generally. Among all she ranked always as a woman of culture, refinement, sympathy, a kind neighbor, a true friend, and withal a woman of heroic mould in bravely meeting the stern requirements and disappointments of life.

Mrs. Ida Young was born March 29th, 1893, at Bozeman, Montana, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patton Blakely, deceased only a few months. At the age of three she came with her parents to the Stillwater valley, where she grew to beautiful womanhood. She was united in marriage April 6, 1921, to Mr. W.A. Young, an energetic farmer near Forsythe, to whom she devoted her later life and who is left to mourn, besides two sisters, Mrs. J.C. Goode of Absarokee, and Mrs. J.E. Shaw, of Forsythe; an adopted brother, Preston Blakely, of the immediate family, and a host of other relatives.

This paper joins with friends of the family in extending deepest condolences.
