Thos. B. Fewson Dies on Christmas Day.
Came West in Early Days and Settled Near Helena.
--Thomas Benjamin Fewson, a pioneer of the west and resident of Teton county since 1918, passed away Christmas day at 6 a.m. at the Choteau hospital. Death was brought about by the infirmities of old age.
--Mr. Fewson was born at Brampton, Canada, Sept. 22, 1863, making him 86 years, 3 months and 3 days of age at the time of his death. For a number of years he lived in Chicago and then moved to Canyon City, Colo., where he made his home for a short time, afterwards returning to Iowa. Later he came to Montana during the early days and made his home in and near Helena. He also resided at Great Falls.
--In 1918 he same to Teton county and took up a homestead on Willow creek, adjoining that of his daughter, Mr. J.R. Young. He lived part of the time with his daughter and part of the time on his homestead. Of late years he resided in Choteau.
--Funeral services were held Friday from the C.H. Connor funeral chapel, and the remains were laid to rest in the Choteau cemetery. The only survivor is Mrs. Young. [Transcribed with permission from the Choteau Acantha 1-2-1930.]
