Audentia Esther (VanDruff) Porter died Sunday morning, Oct. 15, 1995, at
Aspen Meadows Retirement Home at the age of 101.

She was born Feb. 8, 1894, in Durham, Mo., the first child of Mamie (Knott)
VanDruff and Ennis Sherman VanDruff. The family lived in many small towns
in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado, as her father, a railway telegrapher,
followed the westward progress of the railroads. In 1916, she was married
to Harold Oren Porter in Quincy, Ill. They lived most of their married
life in Canton, Mo., until Mr. Porter's retirement in 1955, when they moved
to Billings.

They were the parents of two children, Dorothy (Porter) Baltrusch and Harold
Lewis Porter. Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her husband in 1980,
her son in 1983, and by her only sibling, Mamie (VanDruff) Bosco in 1985.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy (Porter) Baltrusch and her husband,
Dr. Oscar Baltrusch of Billings; her son's widow, Janice (Weckler) Porter
of Springfield, Ill., and their families.

Her grandchildren and their spouses are Jan (Baltrusch) Septon and her
husband, Gary of Tempe, Ariz.; Kurt Baltrusch and his wife Velda of Laurel;
Susan (Baltrusch) Martland and her husband, Gary of St. Paul, Minn.; Carla
Baltrusch Dow and her husband, Doug of Eugene, Ore.; Robert and Patti Porter
of Springfield, Ill.; David and Carol Porter of St. Charles, Ill.; Diane
(Porter) Wood and her husband, Robert of Springfield, Ill; and Dale Porter
of Whitewater, Wis.

Her 13 grandchildren are Dagan, Christopher and Maggie Martland, Cara,
Andrew and Coleman Dow, Katie and Johann Baltrusch, Kristen and Lindsey
Porter, Katie and Brian Porter and Marion Wood.

Grandmommy or "Port," as she was known to her family and friends, was cherished
by many for her sense of humor, intelligence, conviviality and interest
in others. She was a lady. Her house was full of peace, love and apple
pies. Her grandchildren will always remember lessons: save rubber bands,
look for the good in people, find joy in each day and honor all living
things.

The concern and kindness of her neighbors helped her to remain in her own
home until her 101st year.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Smith's
West Chapel, 304 34th St. W.
